3D Printed 18mm Solar guard

Hello again all,
These are my 3D Solar guard.
The infantry are free from KMFP , the droids are free also but I can't remember from where.
The large robot like ones are from Cyber forge.

I had originally printed these as Space Marines but they came small at around 18/19mm so I decided to print them again at 20/22mm & decided to remove the former one's crests to make them different.
Some have been kitbashed .

One Page Rules 3D Printed 18mm Human Defense Force mechs

Hello again all ,
these are my One Page Rules 3D Printed 18mm Human Defense Force mechs ( or OPR HDF Mechs )
And they are a treat for those of us who are
into mecha.
They are mostly single piece so I had to kitbash some of them.

The larger one is supposed to be a titan walker but I printed it smaller. Different sizes of the small ones to represent Alpha leader & Beta grunts.
The HDF is a very nice faction.

I think OPR is one of the best makers to offer complete sets, including rules, settings & short stories.
They also host monthly painting competitions with very nice prizes.

Thanks for your comments. Z

Scratchbuilt & other Stuff

Hello again all
Here is some more Scratchbuilt & other Stuff  which I'd like to share.
With the hope that someone will find them inspirational & useful..

( update 20/10/2025) Finished the Garlic stem trees. More pics posted below
Finished the garlic stem trees & the bases.
Went for a wet on wet , then muted with base colour mixed with acrylic sealer .
Magnets work well & trees don't come off.... that is unless you hit them .
5 or 6 mm magnets might have been better but balance must be found between force & easy removal.

1) First is a holder plate for spraying 15/18mm resin minis. I got tired of using tape or putty . Resin minis are very light & will be blown away when spraying them . So a simple 3d printed holder plate built in 3D builder ( use PETG as it withstands water more than PLA ) with holes 1mm less than the mini bases. 4 embedded magnets hold it down to a metal plate ( side of an old PC ) This is way, way quicker.

2) I mostly buy vegetables & fruit from a green grocer so I can choose items which can be used for the hobby. Call me crazy but the result speaks for itself ... and it's almost 100% free. Garlic bud stems.. Took a long time to save up.... Stuck to a 1 euro cent for stability & being able to stick to a magnet. Used putty to make them nicer & sturdier. 3mm mdf bases & 4 x 2 mm magnets. Has a lot of variation & excellent portability & space saving.
Enough for a gourmet forest 😁

"Settlers on the planet of origin noticed that these trees usually grow in packs of 3 so they started calling them 3 trees .. with time this evolved to 3's and the name stuck. A grove of 3's "

3) Washing liquid cap drop pods
Finally added generic numbers to my scratchbuilt drop pods.

4) Recycled resin printing rafts.
One of the things that I absolutely hate about 3D printing is the waste of material. Which might also end up in the rubbish pile. So.... use the rafts for basing. Clean then from the supports. Sand them. Then put them under a weighted down glass in the sun. They should cure with bending.
Excellent for any scifi basing.

5) Tank traps made from egg containers. The square shape is the space between where the eggs are put.
The figure is an Old 15mm GZG UNSC mini . Perhaps Jon will do newer versions of them like he did with some of the other ranges

6)  3d printed Alien Buildings & Alien eggs . I left the organic supports in place so they look like creepers.

Thanks for your comments.
