As promised here is the 2nd method of doing tracks.This time in paper so they can easily be glued.
All you have to make/ find is a gear system, in the photos there is a fan oscillating mechanism & the other is made from parts of an old HP printer.
The size & pitch of the gear will determine the track type. The stronger the mechanism the thicker card .
Ok they may not be as defined as flat ribbon ones but they are useful as can be seen from my latest ATV.
They can also be used fro window shutters etc.
