18mm Scratchbuilt Mechanicus Exploratory Survey Vehicle

Hello again all,
Here is another Scratchbuilt Vehicle.
Designed in Lightburn ( this is a great & relatively simple design program ).
There should be a free download & for sure one can find people who do laser cutting online.

So go ahead & design.
Note , You don't need to know how to draw but you do need to plan & calculate dimensions as everything must fit properly.

Laser cut in old HP Ohp transparency box card ( Ohp is dark age technology by today's standards 😉)
Tracks are my usual PC old IDE cables.

The mechanicus mini is scratchbuilt also.

Quite like how this came out. Notice the slots that help assemble everything.

Thanks for your comments.

  1. The vehicle looks great Zruny! I'll check out Lightburn too, as I've just started down a similar path myself, but with the cricut at my local libraries Maker Space instead.

I've been playing with freecad, inkscape -and a couple of other programs that I've forgotten the names of- but they're not a lot of fun to use imho.

I was originally going to go down the laser cut MDF route, but when I found out that the cricut can cut card up to 2.4mm I switched my focus. It's been going well so far.

It's great to see your posts/builds again mate. Take care :)
